Car phone charges don't use that much power, did someone plug something in that used alot of current and maybe melted something and then moved it to the other socket; when it blew the fuse and it damaged that socket too? Don't know, let us know what you find,. More than likely the black wire from the head unit has been connected to the dash illumation wire. I had that same fuse blowing trouble a while ago with a bad cell phone charger that I had plugged in. Why would the 100 amp battery fuse be blowing.
